Lorraine qualified as an RGN in 1989 with subsequent clinical registered nursing roles in thoracic surgery, HDU’s and ITU’s across the West Midlands, including a sister’s poster in critical care at Dudley Road hospital. Following post-registration courses in cardio thoracic- (ENB249) in 1996 and in intensive care (ENB 100) in 1998, experience was gained in multiple specialist critical care and thoracic units within the UK. Specialist nursing knowledge was further developed through successful completion of a Specialist Practitioner award in Critical care in 1999.

Lorraine joined ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø as a lecturer in Nursing and became a senior lecturer in Post Registration in 2001 following successful completion of the PGCert in Higher Education. Lorraine was Pathway Leader in Critical care from 2002-2019 and Course Lead in Diploma in Nursing: Post Registration Nursing. Lorraine completed her MA in Education and Professional Development, with recognition of this via fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in 2004. Lorraine is currently Course Lead for Professional Practice Post Registration.
