Dr Saeid Javidi is a Lecturer in Civil Engineering and Course Leader for HNC Construction within the Department of Architecture and Built Environment at Birmingham City University. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and has experience in teaching, research and postgraduate supervision across structural and civil engineering.

His research focuses on structural engineering, timber structures, seismic performance and resilience, with particular expertise in cross-laminated timber (CLT) buildings, timber connections and the seismic behaviour of engineered timber systems. His work also extends to timber–concrete composite structures and the development of sustainable structural solutions for the built environment.

Saeid has published research in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings and book chapters, and has contributed to international research activities in timber and earthquake engineering. He currently supervises PhD researchers and is actively developing research projects involving sustainable construction, climate resilience and the wider environmental and social challenges affecting the built environment, including environmental justice.

Alongside his research, Saeid teaches structural engineering, engineering materials and related civil engineering subjects. He is interested in collaboration with academic and industry partners in sustainable structures, timber engineering, structural resilience, numerical modelling, experimental testing and the development of low-carbon construction solutions.
