Joining academia after many years working in industry, Dr Duyen Chu is passionate about providing research-informed, inclusive and practical education to enable learners to achieve their potential and transform their lives.
He has taught students at both undergraduate and post graduate levels, including apprentice and executive learners. His practice is informed and underpinned by his proactive engagements in research, external examining responsibilities and professional bodies such as Advance HE, Chartered Association of Business Schools, CMI, and British Academy and Management, and European Academy of Management.
He has accumulated various leadership and management experiences such as College Academic Lead for Post Graduate Research Degrees (PGR Lead), Line manager, Link Tutor leading an international education partnership, and Business School Ethics Lead. In addition, he is a mentor of multiple colleagues in their successful Advance HE fellowship (FHEA) and senior fellowship (SFHEA) applications. Â
Externally, he is a Fellow of the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Talent Peer Review College, an Associate Editor of the Journal of Enterprising Communities (Scopus Q1, CABS1*), a Senior Fellow of Advance HE and an active reviewer of multiple high quality academic journals. He has also been an external examiner of a number of UK universities.

Dr Duyen Chu has been working closely with businesses in various industries through his own working experience in industry, collaborative research projects, and education practices.
He has experience of teaching senior managers and leaders of businesses in the Senior Leadership Apprenticeship Programme (accredited by CMI) and SME owners and managers in the Help to Grow Management programme (accredited through the Small Business Charter of the Chartered Association of Business Schools). Â
