One of our highly talented Art and Design with Creative Technologies students was offered a work placement opportunity with London-based Jason Bruges Studio.
Jason Bruges Studio are renowned for producing innovative installations,inventions and ground-breaking works that sit between the world of architecture, site-specific installation art and interaction design.
Jason Bruges, founder of Jason BrugesStudio,is the Visiting Professor for Art and Design with Creative Technologies. Jason supported and contributed to the design and validation of thecourse,and has visited the course multiple times, presenting his creative process, running master classes and setting live briefs.
Dzsaid:“I fully support the approach to cross-disciplinary teaching, using art, design and digital technologiesto explore design methodologies. There is a strong emphasis on collaboration, experience and preparing students for future employability – I think this is extremely important.”
Art and Design with Creative Technologiesstudent,Greene,was given theopportunity of a work placementwithDz’sStudio.Niamh worked alongside the design team ona variety of projects and got to experimentwith a range ofdifferentlighting materials and technologies.
Niamhsaid:“Interning at Jason Bruges Studio in London provided valuable hands-on experience of what the Art and Design industry can be like. It allowed me to apply everything that I have learntover my timeat Birmingham City University on the Art and Design with Creative Technologies course,and confirmedthat this is the direction I would like to take my career once I have completed my degree."
