Ijeoma Emeghe is an academic and built-environment researcher with experience across higher education, industry practice, and policy-focused scholarship. She established her professional foundation as a qualified Associate Member of The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) following two years of professional competence training. She began her higher education career at Covenant University (2014–2017), where she delivered undergraduate modules, managed departmental administrative and mentorship duties, and contributed to collaborative peer-reviewed publications.

Her doctoral research at the University of Reading evaluated the social value of investing in housing quality in the UK, specifically examining the intersections among housing standards, resident agency, and mental well-being to inform social housing policy. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA, 2023), her broader research agenda encompasses healthy housing, urban sustainability, social valuation methodologies, mainstream property technologies, and built-environment pedagogy.

Following her teaching role at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) from 2022 to 2024, she delivers specialised curriculum across modules including Property Management, Advanced Valuation, Property Asset Management, and Residential Portfolio across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the Department of Architecture and Built Environment, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. She bridges academic theory and practice through strategic collaborations with key regional stakeholders, including Birmingham City Council and Calthorpe Estates.

Through her partnership with Calthorpe Estates, she secured dedicated, week-long professional work placements for Birmingham City University Real Estate students commencing in the 2026/27 academic year.
