As a student, it's important to save money wherever you can. That's why we've put together this list of the best places to use your student discount in Birmingham, from things to do and restaurants to shops that offer a cheeky discount.

Student discounts on things to do

1.Ìý

Students can get an amazing discount on bowling at Tenpin, Star City, which means you can play one game from £3.80. Get yourself to Tenpin any time between 6pm on Sunday and 5pm on Friday. You can get to Star City on the number 66 bus from Birmingham city centre.

2.Ìý

Whether you’re a keen climber, boulderer, or a newbie, you can get entry to Birmingham Bouldering Centre for just £6.50 as a student. This is valid on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. You’ll need to pay a one-off charge of £5 for Lifetime membership the first time you visit, and if you don’t have climbing shoes it’s £3.50 each time to hire them.

If you’re looking for more of a night out with a bit of crazy golf thrown into the mix, Golf Fang offers students a game of 18 holes for just £7.50 per person. This one’s valid from Sunday to Thursday and after 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Get closer to Birmingham's history as a world-class producer of chocolate at Cadbury World. There's loads to do for chocolate lovers from learning how it's made to riding the Crunchie rollercoaster. You can catch the train to Bournville from the City Centre and wander around the original chocolate box village.

You can get 30% off food from Sunday to Friday at Zizzi. They offer all the Italian classics like pizza and pasta, plus gluten-free options. This offer is valid with a  account (which is free to sign up for with your university email address).

2.Ìý

If you enjoy Latin American food and vibes, Las Iguanas has food from Mexico, Argentina and Brazil. You can get 30% off food from Sunday to Thursday.

3.Ìý

Fancy a brunch option? Or a decadent meal out with friends? Bill’s give students 20% off from Sunday to Friday, so you can get stuck into their hearty meals, or charge up for a day of studying.

Student discounts on shopping

1.Ìý

You can find Urban Outfitters on the corner of New Street and Corporation Street, in eyesight of the infamous ramp. They’ve got everything from vintage to homeware and curated collections to help you achieve the perfect aesthetic.

2.Ìý

You can find nearly everything your heart desires in the Sports Direct shop in Birmingham. Set over multiple floors, they’ve got a massive range of sportswear and fashion brands to choose from.

UniDays is a website that offers a wide range of student discounts from a variety of retailers, it's free to sign up and start saving with your university email address. 

Student Beans is another website/app full of student discounts, but they offer discounts on slightly different shops and restaurants.

The Totem card (formerly NUS) is a physical card that offers a range of student discounts. You can register for a Totem card on the Totem website for a small fee. 

Top tip

Take your student ID card out with you and always ask for a student discount! Places may not advertise discounts but still have great deals for you to take advantage of.
