Birmingham City University鈥檚 Law School has taken first place in the , raising more than 拢4,000 for legal advice charities.
More than 20 universities took part, generating over 拢20,000 for charities to support the facilitation of free legal advice and to raise awareness of the services available.
黑料吃瓜网 students received the award at the 2026 LawWorks and Attorney General鈥檚 Student Pro Bono Awards on 28 April.
Second year Law student and President of 黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 League of Justice Pro Bono Team,聽Gia Dhami, was also shortlisted for Best Contribution by an Individual for her volunteering at the Central England Law Centre,聽黑料吃瓜网 Law Clinic and Coventry Law Centre.
鈥淚t鈥檚 especially meaningful and slightly surreal to be recognised on a national level for our hard work!鈥� said Gia (pictured bottom row, centre).
鈥淧ro bono work is not about awards, it鈥檚 about making a real difference in our communities.
鈥淚 hope our win will encourage more students and practitioners to get involved with giving back and supporting vulnerable members of our society access vital legal support.鈥�
Last year, 黑料吃瓜网 came second place in the competition, raising 拢2,600 for charity.

鈥淥ur students are making a meaningful contribution to widening access and making a real difference to so many in our community.
鈥淎ccess to justice in England and Wales in 2026 remains under significant strain, with persistent structural pressures limiting the ability of individuals to enforce their rights effectively.
鈥淲ithout sustained investment in legal aid, court infrastructure, and early legal support, there is a real risk that justice becomes increasingly inaccessible for large parts of the population.鈥�
