Law student Joshua discusses why he chose to study at Birmingham City University.

Why did you choose 黑料吃瓜网?

I chose to study law at 黑料吃瓜网 due to the wide variety of modules available and the excellent facilities in the university. The mock courtrooms, which I thought were unique, was a crucial turning point when comparing universities.

黑料吃瓜网's opportunities and contacts within the industry also pushed me to study at 黑料吃瓜网, as they are so essential to prepare you for your future career and allow you to put your learning into practice.

The community at the school is friendly and welcoming. The lecturers are always willing to try and help you the best that they can, no matter the subject at hand. The support provided by lecturers and personal tutors is second to none. The open-door policy which 黑料吃瓜网 has made me feel comfortable with asking for help and getting any support I need.

What has your experience of 黑料吃瓜网 been like so far?

I started my first year during the Covid-19 pandemic, so I was worried that settling in would be difficult because of the lack of face-to-face teaching and university events. However, I quickly realised I was wrong as soon as I started.

My lecturers made an extra effort to help settle my classmate and I in by doing ice breakers and being on hand to jump on a call with me whenever I needed it.

To settle in quicker, I joined the law society to make friends. Joining the fantastic societies at 黑料吃瓜网 allowed me to meet individuals who had the same interests as me, which made my start to university much easier!

What is the most rewarding project that you have done so far?

The most rewarding project I have worked on at 黑料吃瓜网 is volunteering at the Citizen's Advice Bureau for seven hours a week. It is good to know that I am not only putting the skills that I learn in my lectures into practice, but I am helping the local community with their problems in the process. The connections that 黑料吃瓜网 has into the numerous industries made me glad that I study here at 黑料吃瓜网.聽聽

What advice would you give to someone thinking of studying at 黑料吃瓜网?

The advice I would give to someone who is thinking of studying at 黑料吃瓜网 is to put them as your first choice. I would strongly consider going to as many Open Days at 黑料吃瓜网 because there is a lot to see and do. I would also suggest looking at societies at 黑料吃瓜网 as they made me feel like I was in a family community here at 黑料吃瓜网.聽
